Java OP Bärbucha Kombucha
One of our current specials is made with a black tea that comes from Indonesia, Java to be exact.
The tea is called Malabar Estate OP. OP stands for Orange Pekoe is the name used in tea leaf grading & it denotes the highest grade of the specific tea. This grading system is used mainly for Western & South Asian teas, but not in China.
Java Orange Pekoe consists of long, dark leaves that brew a full-bodied, copper-red liquor that is low in tannins with an elegant, spicy aroma. It comes out even better tasting when fermented into Kombucha.
As always, we use only 4 ingredients to make this Kombucha. So, Java OP tea, filtered water, unrefined brown sugar & our cultures.
When done, this Kombucha is done, it has a nice reddish-brown color.
Which shows even better in the bottles.
And even better, when the bottles are sun-kissed!
So overall, it's nice nice & full-bodied Kombucha, especially for those who like black tea brews.
