Here's another discontinued Kombucha from our Classic line up.
And again, this original blog entry is blog entry is here though, as a fine memory of our Kombucha journey.
......
Time to describe the next Classic Line Kombucha - Orange Tea Bärbucha.
This one is made out of a single black tea that has been flavored with dried orange zest and orange essential oil.
Since the tea is Organic (BIO), so are also those flavoring agents (zest and oil).
Which brings us to the common myth of not using flavored teas, or teas that have essential oils in them, to make Kombucha, as those would supposedly harm the cultures.
Here's our Scoby after F1.
Obviously, it's this tan-looking Scoby in the foreground. It looks pretty healthy to us!
As a tea, this particular Orange one is quite tasteful and light, with very nice orange notes.
And it also lacking strong bitterness that is characteristic to a lot of black teas. That's why we picked this tea for this particular Bärbucha Kombucha.
The higher caffeine content creates a nice, natural carbonation, even just after F1:
And that carbonation stays on with this Kombucha, without becoming too excessive:
It may not be as popular as some of our other Kombuchas in this line up, but we enjoy it as an alternative to our other "flavors". That's why it often travels with us, as can be seen on the picture below, taken in Italy:
Or this one from Cracow, Poland:
We've been making it for quite some time. Even before we had current labels for this Kombucha.
Here's a vintage photo from two years ago:
Ingredients: Filtered & Revitalized Water, Live Kombucha Cultures, BIO Unrefined Brown Sugar, BIO Black Orange Tea
